“We are proud to have crafted our 2023-2025 Executive Legislative Agenda (ELA), which charts the Province’s direction and priorities for the next three years, with the participation not only of both our executive and legislative branches, but also our Civil Society Organizations based in the Province, and national government partners.
Our focus on three major growth drivers where we have the most opportunity to address poverty and at the same time achieve sustainable economic growth is a strategic direction that the
Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur will pursue for the next three years. We will not only address the most urgent needs of our Province, but also on building the foundations for large-scale development that will lead to more jobs generated and consequently, boost our economy. We will link tourist destinations where we take advantage not only of our rich and unique environmental and cultural heritage, but also from raw and processed products from our agri-forestry industry.
We are going to ensure that our interventions are sustained by strengthening social preparation and core group development in our community / people’s organization partners. We will focus on community-based skills enhancement and training so the focus at the onset is on continuity instead of doing business just for the sake of doing business. We will explore new opportunities for enterprise development, taking advantage of our existing strengths in agriculture, forestry and mining.
We are going to make it easier for businesses to grow, and for more investments to come in, by streamlining and simplifying requirements, not only for large scale but also for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). We want to learn from our past to make sure we not only make it easier for people to invest and do business in Agusan del Sur, but ensure that they remain and keep investing back into the local economy.
To ensure sustainable growth in our three priority areas, we will ensure that the bedrock sectors such as social services, environment, infrastructure, public safety, disaster risk reduction and climate resilience, are in place. Capacitated, participative, results-based, accountable, and empowered human resources who have a sound base of reliable data and e-systems for decision-making; as well as effective and facilitative policies and legislation that set the principles and standards that we follow; all make our mission of poverty reduction and sustainable economic growth achievable.
I enjoin everyone to support and work with us to implement this strategic development framework. In order to make our mark indelible, Let’s make it a point to work with our hearts, process it in our heads, and perfect it through our actions to make the next three years a time that will always be positively remembered. We can do this together!”
